Bahrain Spikers Crowned Champions of the Takafo Volleyball League for Women.

Bahrain Spikers were crowned champions of the first edition of the Takafo Volleyball League for Women after defeating Sportista 2–0 in the final at Isa Sports City. The tournament, organized by the General Sports Authority in cooperation with its partners, witnessed wide participation and strong public attendance, reflecting the growing support for women’s sports in Bahrain.

Bahrain Spikers Crowned Champions of the First Edition of the Takafo Volleyball League for Women

In implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, aimed at supporting and empowering Bahraini women and enhancing their participation in sports, the final match of the first edition of the Takafo Volleyball League for Women was held between Sportista and Bahrain Spikers at Isa bin Rashid Hall (C) in Isa Sports City, amid a distinguished official and public attendance.

The closing day was attended by His Excellency Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, Chief Executive Officer of the General Sports Authority; His Excellency Sheikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Volleyball Association; and Her Excellency Sheikha Dr. Hessa bint Khalid Al Khalifa, Chairperson of the Equal Opportunities and Gender Balance Committee in the Sports Field, alongside a number of officials from the General Sports Authority and the Bahrain Volleyball Association, as well as club presidents and sports figures.

Bahrain Spikers were crowned champions of the first edition after defeating Sportista in the final match by two sets to none. Sportista finished as runners-up, while the University of Bahrain team secured third place after winning the third-place playoff against Volley Vibes.

This league marks the first edition of the Takafo Volleyball League for Women, organized by the General Sports Authority in cooperation with the Equal Opportunities and Gender Balance Committee in the Sports Field and the Bahrain Volleyball Association, with the support of a number of supporting and partner entities. The league comes as part of efforts to enhance women’s participation in the sports sector and provide a suitable environment for competitive sports.

The first edition witnessed remarkable success and wide participation from eight teams representing clubs, academies, educational institutions, and private teams. This reflects the growing interest in women’s sports in the Kingdom of Bahrain and lays the foundation for a promising start toward further initiatives and championships dedicated to Bahraini women.

His Excellency Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, His Excellency Sheikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, and Her Excellency Sheikha Dr. Hessa bint Khalid Al Khalifa crowned the top three winning teams and honored the outstanding players and winners of the individual awards, in addition to honoring the teams that received appreciation awards during the league.

The closing ceremony also included the presentation of the league’s special awards, with Al Rawabi Private School winning the Promising Team Award, while Al Maha Academy received the Ideal Team Award.

The first edition of the Takafo Volleyball League for Women concluded in a distinguished celebratory atmosphere that reflected the organizational and technical success of the league, amid strong public attendance and great engagement from fans and families. This confirms the success of the championship in achieving its objectives of supporting women’s sports and strengthening the presence of Bahraini women in various sporting competitions.
