His Excellency Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, Chief Executive Officer of the General Sports Authority, received Dr. Faisal Al Shuwaikh, Chairman of Barbar Club, and a number of members of the club’s Board of Directors, in the presence of officials from the General Sports Authority.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee. His Excellency affirmed His Highness’s keenness to support national clubs and follow their sporting journey and achievements at various levels.
His Excellency the Chief Executive Officer praised the outstanding achievements made by Barbar Club in handball, affirming that the club’s continued successes and its winning of titles and championships across various age categories reflect the distinguished administrative and technical work led by the club’s management. He also highlighted the club’s great focus on developing talents, refining players’ skills, and investing in age-group teams, which has contributed to strengthening the club’s position as one of Bahrain’s leading handball clubs.
He also commended the efforts made by the club’s management and technical and administrative staff in maintaining the team’s level and continuing to compete in various local championships, reflecting a successful model of institutional sports work.
The meeting discussed a number of the club’s needs and requirements for the coming phase, as well as future plans and programmes that would contribute to continuing its successful journey and achieving further sporting accomplishments.
Dr. Faisal Al Shuwaikh, Chairman of Barbar Club, expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his continuous support of national clubs and his constant keenness to develop the sports movement in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He affirmed that this attention and support serve as a strong motivation for clubs to continue working and achieve further accomplishments. He also valued the General Sports Authority’s attention and continuous follow-up of clubs’ needs, praising its role in supporting sports development and strengthening the successes achieved by Bahraini clubs across various sports.
